Some people worry that they will lose the feeling of having a home when they live in an RV. For us after about 2 months, it felt like we have always lived in an RV. Its amazing what you can accept as normal!
Since living full-time in our RV we always go out of our way to make sure we bring Christmas into our little home. Our Tradition includes replacing a tree with a branch that we hang on the wall.
We always light a candle to help set the mood. Usually its just some cheap tea light, but its just perfect for us.
We make sure to find a suitable Spotify playlist – this year our music played through our new Playstation 4.
We hang traditional stockings and display our favorite ornaments.
We even setup a little Christmas Tree above the television…
We tape down a lot of ornaments so when the house moves or shakes, things don’t fall over.
This year we also downloaded our favorite Christmas movie: National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
About 5 minutes into the movie the Christmas branch fell off the wall.
And about 3 of our favorite ornaments were forever smashed into oblivion.
We quickly gave up, and the tree branch was turned into a Charlie Brown Style, sad Christmas tree. Oh well. Next year we are going to find a better way to hold up our branch!
You can always make great Christmas traditions. Do something new! Do something Fun!
I see online groups always talking about “how do I find a tree that fits”, or where do you put your ornaments. Don’t be those people please! Think about what Christmas is to you and your family. Then build new Christmas traditions around your new life style.
For us, living tiny is about remembering what is important. The large tree and extravagance was not what we valued. We valued decorating, being creative, and remembering the reason for the season.
How do you decorate for Christmas?
